Press Release. Pyrocore – Inoe partnership
Paris, 25th Avril 2024 — PYROCORE SAS, a European pioneer in implementing pyrolysis solutions, and INOE SAS, a leading company in the Île-de-France region specialising in the valorisation of lignocellulosic biomass based in Yvelines, are pleased to announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding, marking a significant milestone towards a shared vision of industrial and territorial ecology. This strategic partnership underscores the commitment of both companies to successfully pursue a common ambition towards an environmentally friendly economy and a more sustainable future!
“The collaboration between PYROCORE and INOE aims to demonstrate a territorial industrial ecology approach using proven technologies for the valorisation of lignocellulosic biomass. This is to meet the heating needs of the first hardwood pellet production unit in Île-de-France, while sustainably sequestering carbon through the production of biochar for soil regeneration in the region.”
This project is situated at the heart of Ligno Vallée, on the Biomass Factory site, a platform for the manufacturing and valorisation of lignocellulosic materials in Île-de-France.
Ambition and Innovation at the Heart of Ligno Vallée
The ambition of this partnership goes beyond the valorisation of lignocellulosic biomass, biochar production, or pellets. It fits within the broader framework of creating Ligno Vallée, a wood excellence hub at the heart of Île-de-France, destined to become a benchmark model for innovation in sustainable wood resource utilization and bioeconomy in the Île-de-France region. By pooling their technical expertise and industrial capacity, PYROCORE and INOE aspire to generate positive environmental, economic, and social impacts.
This collaboration revolves around several key objectives:
- Valorising lignocellulosic biomass deposits in Île-de-France, sourced from various forest origins, landscapes, and environments, or from recycling, with principles of circular economy, notably by integrating short supply chains.
- Producing 4,000 tonnes of biochar annually, with multiple uses, primarily for soil regeneration in Île-de-France. This corresponds to the sustainable sequestration of over 12,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
- Developing innovative pyrolysis technologies, versatile, self-sufficient, and scalable, adapted to the specificities of available biomass.
- Contributing to the energy independence of Ligno Vallée through local production and use of renewable energies, aligning with principles of industrial and territorial ecology.
- Industrial demonstration area: A true hub for biomass valorisation strategies, serving the ambitions of territories and industries, providing a concrete response to the imperative concerns of decarbonisation.
A Common Commitment for a Sustainable Future
Pierre Emmanuel Crépin, CEO of PYROCORE, stated: “This partnership with INOE marks a pivotal moment in our strategy to promote pyrolysis technologies in Île-de-France, initially, with national, European, and international ambitions. We take pride in this project, which embodies our commitment to a more sustainable future and responsible management of natural resources.”
Eric Walme, President, and Frank Mainard, CEO of INOE, further commented: “This partnership with PYROCORE will contribute to accelerating the development of a sustainable wood sector in Île-de-France. Together, we are committed to making this model an example for energy and ecological transition, to be deployed beyond the territory.”
This memorandum of understanding marks the first step towards the realization of the project, with well-defined development stages to ensure the success and sustainability of the initiatives planned for the first half of 2026. PYROCORE and INOE invite all stakeholders, including local authorities, financial institutions, and surrounding communities, to join them in this ambitious endeavour.
