Proposals for our new manufacturing plant in Avonmouth, Bristol
We are pleased to announce our proposals for a new manufacturing plant at 203 Burcott Road in Avonmouth, Bristol. We recently took possession of the site and will shortly submit a planning application to Bristol City Council.
The location offers excellent access to transport networks such as rail, shipping and the motorway network as well as to a strong supply chain, including crane and other plant hire. In the long-term, it has the space to allow our growing business to be accommodated in one place. Should the planning application for the plant receive planning permission, we will then apply to move all our operations, including the demonstration and R&D facility near Wells and headquarter offices in Portishead, to Burcott Road by 2024.
The new manufacturing plant will develop between five and seven pyrolysis systems a year. The small, green and clean systems transform waste into decarbonized energy, running on their own energy. Resulting char is as small as a handful of dust and can be converted into carbon bricks, to be used in construction. The systems can also recover by-products such as metals and glass for reuse, actively contributing to a circular economy.
Operations Director, Stephen Bacon said: “We are very excited to be bringing forward our proposals for a new manufacturing plant in Avonmouth. We want to hear from local people and businesses before we submit a planning application. We believe this is an excellent opportunity for Avonmouth to host a UK manufacturer at the forefront of innovation in waste technology, providing green solutions to customers in the UK and overseas. We want to ensure that the local economy benefits from the proposals, with potential new job and training opportunities in the long term. We are logging suitable local suppliers and plan to engage with a variety of different local businesses.”
